Pangasius hypanthhalmus (English name: Pangasius hypanthhalmus), also known as Vietnamese pomfret, fighting pomfret and dace pomfret, is a freshwater fish, mainly distributed in freshwater rivers and reservoirs in Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand.
Because of its tender meat and delicious taste, crispy pomfret has become a world-famous aquaculture species and one of the main aquatic products exports in Vietnam. Besides Viet Nam, Thailand, Indian, Bangladeshi, China and other countries also have the culture of crispy pomfret.
