How to grow bergamot?
Cultivation of bergamot:

1. Soil preparation:

Choose a yard or field with scaffolding position, ventilation and light transmission, and deep soil layer, apply sufficient base fertilizer and turn it deep and level.

Second, raising seedlings:

Fingered citron can only be cultivated as an annual in temperate regions, and the whole melon must be sown and raised. In the place with greenhouse, seedlings can be raised in11~1February, and prolonging the seedling raising period can make seedlings grow more branches and stronger branches. Cut the seedlings and vines in the first and middle of March, and each cut section contains 2 ~ 3 nodes. Soak the cut stems in 500ppm NAA solution for 5 ~10 min, take them out and insert them into nursery nutrient soil or light matrix such as vermiculite, perlite and screened slag, and keep warm and moist to promote their rooting.

Third, transplantation: fingered citron can be planted after frost breaking:

1, greenhouse cultivation can be planted in the first and middle of March, and it is appropriate to plant in the open field in the middle of April.

2. When planting, the hole should be large and deep, about 1m square and 1m deep. Fill the excavated soil into the hole 1/3, apply 200 ~ 250 kg of decomposed high-quality ring fertilizer to each hole, and fully mix it with the hole soil, then cover it with 20cm of soil and tamp it with your feet.

3. When planting, take down the seedling flowerpot or plastic bag, bring the soil into the hole, the land is flush with the ground level, and then bury the soil.

4, water after planting, to promote its slow seedling. Planting density: if the seedlings are raised by planting melons and large seedlings are planted, 20 ~ 30 trees can be planted every 667 square meters.

5. When the seedlings are cultivated by cutting, the density can be appropriately increased, the row spacing is 3m ~ 4m, and the plant spacing is 2m, with 80 ~120 plants per 667m2.

Fourth, set up a frame to lead vines and pruning:

When the vines grow to about 40cm, it is necessary to use local materials according to local conditions, and use bamboo poles and ropes to make the tendrils of bergamot hook up and lead its leaves to climb the frame, the tree and the wall.

Five, fertilizer management:

1, after planting 1 month, the seedlings should be covered and warmed to promote growth and development. During this period, no topdressing is required, only small water is poured.

2. During the period of rapid root development, more intertillage should be done to loosen the soil, promote root development and lay the foundation for the vigorous growth of plants after autumn. Water regularly in the summer to keep the soil moist and increase the air humidity, so that Chaenomeles can spend the summer safely.

3. In autumn, the growth of the aboveground part of the plant is obviously accelerated to enter the vigorous growth period, and it is necessary to attack with fertilizer and water, so that the aboveground part of the plant can grow and develop rapidly and have more lateral branches, laying a material foundation for more flowers and more fruits.

4. During the flowering and fruiting period, the daily transpiration is large, and sufficient water and fertilizer are needed to keep the soil moist. Nitrogen and phosphate fertilizer can be sprayed on the leaves for 2 ~ 3 times, or decomposed human and animal fertilizers can be applied.

First, bergamot introduction:

Chaenomeles, also known as Falcon Melon, Ann Pumpkin, Yaoli, Shougua, Hezhang Melon, Wannian Melon, etc., is a rare winter vegetable variety of Cucurbitaceae, which originated in Mexico and Indonesia Islands, and was introduced to China from Japan at the beginning of19th century. The shape of bergamot is like the palm of your hand folded together, which means Buddhist blessing, so it is called "bergamot" and "longevity" and is deeply loved by people. Second, the classification of fingered citron varieties:

According to the color of the fruit, bergamot can be divided into two kinds: white and green.

1.Green-skinned species have strong growth potential, thick stems and long vines, and many melons. The skin of the melon is dark green, the shape of the melon is long and big, the fruit surface is stiff or not, and the weight of a single melon is about 0.5 kg. High yield, but light fruit flavor, is the main cultivated variety at present.

2. The growth potential of white-skinned species is weak, the stems are thin and short, and there are few melons. The melon skin is white-green, the melon shape is round and small, the surface is smooth and spineless, the meat quality is dense, the fishy smell is light, the taste is good, and the yield is low, which is for raw food.

Third, the nutritional value of bergamot:

Chaenomeles is full of nutrition in melons and vegetables, and eating it regularly is beneficial to enhance the body's ability to resist diseases. Eating bergamot regularly can induce diuresis and excrete sodium, which has the functions of dilating blood vessels and lowering blood pressure.
