Character history of Nora Hoffman

On March 25, 2006 during the Ice Dance Free Dance competition at the World Figure Skating Championships in Calgary, an accident occurred. The Hungarian pair Hoffman/Elek, who were lined up in the same group to start the competition, and Japan's Watanabe/Nikito accidentally collided during warm-ups, and Watanabe's ice skate kicked Hoffman's left elbow and back. Hoffman and his dance partner, whose eyes were filled with pain, had to stop warming up and go to the back of the rink to receive a bandage. But when it was their turn to take the ice, Hoffman's bleeding wounds hadn't been treated, and the referee agreed under the rules to give them an extra two minutes of preparation time to consider whether to take the ice or withdraw from the game, or they would be disqualified.

When Hoffman/Elek's name was called for the third and final time on the radio, the Hungarian girl stood up anyway, assisted by her dance partner, and stepped onto the ice, where the nearly 8,000 spectators rose in unison to show their appreciation and respect for their tenacity. The accident obviously affected Hoffman's play, and she even forgot a few of her moves, and her dance steps looked a little disorganized. After the competition, Hoffmann said that the accident was unfortunate for her, but the reason why they didn't withdraw from the competition was because they wanted to "finish the last competition of the season well". On November 6, 2010, Hungary's Nora Hoffman (L)/Maxim Zanosian competed in the Ice Dance Free Dance. On the same day, Nora Hoffman/Maxim Zanosian won the fourth place with a total score of 130.82 points in the Ice Dance competition of 2010 China Cup World Figure Skating Grand Prix.
