Hu vulture, also known as Hu vulture, mainly feeds on naked bones and corpses, especially sticks. This is because 90% of its food is originally bone marrow, and vultures are born with a throat of 70 mm, and it is easy to swallow bones of 35 mm to 25 cm. It can be called a bone crusher.

Why do vultures eat bones? Although we often say that vultures only eat bones, in fact, they mainly eat bone marrow from bones, because it is rich in fat and extremely delicious. Besides, Hu vultures also eat animal carcasses. Like vultures, they sometimes catch small animals such as lizards or turtles when food is extremely scarce.

Moreover, vultures themselves have innate conditions for swallowing bones, such as a 70mm flexible throat, which can at least swallow the whole bovine spine. If the bones are too big, vultures can still hold them and fall on rocks or steep slopes from a height of 50- 100m, which is not only convenient to swallow, but also can swallow bone marrow.

Characteristics of Vultures as Scavengers Vultures are scavengers, so their claws are deteriorating, but their hooks are becoming more powerful. For example, the tip of their mouths is directly 90 degrees, which can better tear carrion or clip bones, while swallowing bones is just to fill their stomachs. In the non-breeding season, Hu vultures will move in groups, and whenever they detect a corpse, they will flock to eat a cow with only a head in about a few minutes.
