How to farm freshwater hairy crabs

Freshwater crab culture methods are as follows:

1, choose the right pond conditions

A good freshwater pond must have clean water quality and adequate water supply, the drainage and water intake of the pond should be very convenient, the soil in the pond is clay, sandy or sub-sandy soil with good ventilation. The area should not be too small, the depth of water should be maintained between 0.6 - 1.5m, it can form a few small mounds above the water surface, called crab islands, easy access to light, and did not provide the conditions for it to dig holes to build holes.

2, keep the pool water clean

If it is a new freshwater aquaculture pond, it must be disinfected with necessary drugs before stocking crabs. Usually, bleach is used to keep the pool water clean and harmless to the crabs. First, we must have the size of the whole pond to determine the actual volume, and then allocate a reasonable amount of bleach according to the size. After the water is dissolved, the entire pool should be splashed in a short period of time. Usually, after clearing the pool 5-6d can be stocked.

3.Cultivate good water quality in the pool

After the previous step of disinfecting with bleach powder, about 150kg of organic humus fertilizer can be put into the pool after 3-4 days. After a few days, the color of the pool will gradually turn blue-green and the water should retain its cleanliness and hygiene.

4, planting suitable aquatic plants

As mentioned above, the growth habit of crabs is inseparable from the aquatic environment. Therefore, crab culture in freshwater ponds should make full use of this habitual feature by planting or placing some suitable aquatic plants in the ponds to shape the expected natural growing environment and atmosphere. Another purpose of planting aquatic plants in the pond is to play a dispersing role so that the crabs can be dispersed at different heights in the pond. It should be noted that aquatic plants should not be planted too densely, leaving a certain amount of sunlight space.
