Remember, when you come across something like this in the future, you can't use it just because the clerk says so.

Tell him to find evidence to show you, such as signs in the store, such as advertisements clearly marked (the final interpretation of so-and-so's sentence is now useless).

As long as it is not explicitly stated, it can be used.

If the clerk tells you there's a document or an advertisement or something, he can't get it out right now.

Then you ask him to write down what he said to prove it, and indicate when he can show it to you, and what is specifically labeled on it, and how to deal with it if he can't get it out.

If it's a good thing to do, it's not a violation of anything at all...

It's up to you if you want to take the time to do it.
