Jinhua shortbread and Huangshan baklava have different historical records and it is impossible to determine which came first.

Jinhua biscuits originated in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, and are rumored to have started in the Southern Song Dynasty, more than 800 years ago. The Huangshan baklava, which originated in Huangshan City, Anhui Province, is rumored to have begun during the Qing Dynasty, more than 200 years ago.

However, both Jinhua shortcake and Huangshan baklava have their own characteristics, long history and unique flavor.
