How to clean olive clams
Although olive clams are delicious, they are generally difficult to clean and it is disappointing to eat sediment. So how can I wash it quickly and cleanly?

Cleaning and soaking:

Wash the bought razor clam with clear water first, then prepare a basin of clear water and add a proper amount of salt to melt it. Then, put the clean razor clam into the basin and pay attention to changing the water. After changing the water for the third time, add a drop of oil to the water and mix well.

There are several points to note in this step:

First, the amount of clear water should not be too much, just after the razor clam, which is more convenient for the razor clam to spit sediment.

Second, the amount of salt should not be too much or too little. Taste it with your mouth, as salty as it is in peacetime. Because there is little salt, the razor clam does not spit out sediment, but if the water is too salty, the razor clam will soon die. In addition, the best salt is sea salt, and the owners who sell razor clam are ready, and it is free.

Third, adding a little oil to water can isolate oxygen and make razor clams spit out sediment faster. But the amount of oil must be small, just a few drops of water in a basin. If you use too much, the razor clam will die soon.

Fourth, in order to prevent the razor clam from sucking back the spit sediment, you can put the razor clam in the filter basket or the leaky basket, then put the filter basket or the leaky basket in the water, and put chopsticks at the bottom. In this way, the sediment will sink to the bottom of the water and will not be sucked back by razor clams.

Replace disinfection water:

Stand for about 20 ~ 30 minutes, and you will see the razor clam begin to spit water desperately. After about 2 ~ 3 hours, the sediment in the razor clam will be spit out, so pay attention to changing water more. In addition, after the razor clam spits water 1 hour or so, you can also add a little vinegar to the water, which can kill halophilic bacteria and make it more hygienic to eat.

Spit out sediment:

Take out the razor clam that spits out all the sediment, rub it repeatedly with light salt water, wash the dirty things on the shell, and control the water to dry before cooking.

If you want to be clean, you can put the razor clam in a boiling pot, take out the razor clam meat, tear off the black line on it, remove the black "sandbag", squeeze the straw of the razor clam by hand, squeeze out the dirty things inside, and then rinse it with clear water.
