Influenced by China culture, traditional festivals in Vietnam are similar to those in China. Traditional folk festivals mainly include Spring Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Pangu Festival, Sending Kitchen God Festival, etc. Spring Festival is the biggest folk festival in Vietnam.
The first day of the first month of the summer calendar is the Spring Festival. According to the traditional customs of Vietnam, every hostess has to make new clothes, prepare new year's goods for a few days and clean the house, even during the Spring Festival. On New Year's Eve, the whole family have a reunion dinner and set off firecrackers. During the Spring Festival, we mainly eat glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in reed leaves.
2. Laos
Laos is a country with Hinayana Buddhism as its main religion, and more than 90% people believe in Buddhism. The influence of Buddhism permeates the daily life of the Lao people, and many customs and etiquette are closely related to Buddhism. For most of the year, Lao adult men generally wear long-sleeved shirts and trousers, while women wear long-sleeved double-breasted coats and skirts with ethnic flavor.
Due to strong ultraviolet rays, many Lao people still wrap themselves up even in hot weather. However, this has not changed the darker skin color of Laos. Lao women generally have multiple sets of dresses, and the fabrics are obviously hand-woven.
3. Cambodia
Cambodians think that the left hand is unclean and it is impolite to hold things or food with it. They also believe that the head is a sacred part of human beings, so it is not like the Cambodian national dance-praying dancers can't touch their own heads at will, nor can they touch children's heads at will.
4. Thailand
There are many ceremonies in Thailand, and the etiquette is also very complicated. Every nation has different ceremonies and etiquette. Thais are the main ethnic group in Thailand, so Thai etiquette is basically Thai etiquette.
Generally speaking, Thai people's clothes are relatively simple, mostly rural national clothes. In public places in Thailand, don't do anything that is detrimental to style, such as hugging, kissing or shaking hands, which is considered to be against local customs.
In addition, nude sunbathing is only allowed on some beaches. In other places, Thais don't like this behavior. Although it does not constitute a crime, it violates Thai Buddhist philosophy.
5. Myanmar (Southeast Asian countries)
Burmese people don't have surnames, so they usually put an article in front of their names to show their gender, age, identity and status. Young men call themselves "looks" (meaning younger brother) to show modesty. They call themselves "looks" to the younger generation or teenagers, "Guo" to their peers or brothers, and "Wu" to their elders or people in position.
For example, a person named Angji is called Angji, and with the change of age and status, he is called Angji, Guo Angji or Wu Angji.
