Hakka enclosure houses, also known as dragon enclosure houses, dragon enclosure houses, Hakka dragon enclosure houses, etc., are famous characteristic residential buildings in Hakka culture of Han nationality. Wai House was built in Tang and Song Dynasties and flourished in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Narrow-sense enclosed houses refer to enclosed houses in dragon style, while broad-sense enclosed houses can refer to various Hakka enclosed houses or enclosed houses. In a broad sense, the shape of the enclosure is basically divided into three types: concentric circle, semicircle and square. In addition, there are also shapes such as front and back semicircle, gossip and ellipse. Wai House is one of the five characteristic residential buildings in China, which combines the simple heritage of Han nationality and the regional cultural characteristics of southern mountainous areas. As long as Hakka people live in compact communities, you can see the traces of the dragon house, including Guangdong, Jiangxi and Fujian provinces in the south of Chinese mainland, Pingtung, Yunlin and Taichung Dongshi in Taiwan Province.
