The wood color of Huanghua pear is golden and moist, and the heartwood color is reddish brown or dark brown, which has the texture of repeated horns. The specific gravity of huanghuali wood is relatively light, and it may be lighter than mahogany (rosewood). When it is put into water, it is semi-submerged, that is, it does not completely sink into the water or float on the water. The texture of huanghuali wood is very clear, like flowing water, very beautiful. The most special thing is that there are many wood boils in the wood grain. These wood boils are also smooth and not cracked, showing the texture of fox's head, old man's head and old man's head hair, which is beautiful and pleasant, that is, people often say "grimace". Most of the high-grade furniture made in Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty was made of huanghuali wood. Due to excessive logging in the previous dynasty, the huanghuali wood was drastically reduced and even endangered before the middle of Qing Dynasty, so mahogany was used instead. According to the published furniture materials of Ming and Qing dynasties, Huanghua pear wood is of great material, and single-board flat head cases with a width of half a meter and a length of two meters can be seen.
