Snow chrysanthemum is picked in autumn and only blooms once a year, and each flowering time is very short. The snow chrysanthemum in Yunju is superior, growing at an altitude of 2600 meters. This kind of snow chrysanthemum is picked around August. The top series grows above 3300 meters above sea level, and the flowering time is around September, when it can be picked.

The head inflorescence is inserted at the top of slender branches, with a total stalk. A constant number of inflorescences form cymes, and the inflorescences are 2~4cm straight. Tongue-shaped flowers are single-wheeled, with 6-8 petals, yellow, reddish brown at the base or lower part, and purple-brown tubular flowers. The total bract is 2 layers, and the inner layer is longer than the outer layer.

Achenes are spindle-shaped, with a seed life of 3-4 years and a flowering period of August-September. Both of them are cultivated as annual plants, with the cartilage base of the external involucre of Coreopsis. Female flowers are about 10- 12, tongue-shaped, yellow or orange-yellow, with 3 teeth at the top, bisexual flowers are dark purple and 5 teeth at the top.

Storage method

Put the snow chrysanthemum with water content of 6% into an iron or wooden teapot and seal the spout with adhesive tape. Long-term storage in the refrigerator, the temperature is kept at 5℃, and the fresh-keeping effect is good.

There are many reasons for adverse changes. Temperature, humidity, odor, light, air and microorganisms will all cause the loss of color and fragrance of tea. It should be placed in a dry and ventilated place, away from these many unfavorable factors. Can not be placed in damp, high temperature, unclean and exposed places.

There should be no irritating items such as camphor, medicines, cosmetics, cigarettes and washing products. Different kinds and grades of quicklime shall not be mixed and stored, nor shall they be used as water absorbents.
