1. Prepare a suitable aquarium or container: Choose an appropriately sized container to ensure that the river prawns have enough space to move around. A 10-20 liter container is usually sufficient.
2. Water depth: River shrimp need a certain depth of water to swim and hide. The depth of the water should at least cover the body of the river shrimp, usually around 10-15 centimeters.
3. Water quality management: Keeping the water clean is the key to farming river prawns. Use filters or change water regularly to maintain water quality. Also, test water quality parameters such as ammonia, nitrite and pH regularly to ensure they are within the appropriate range.
4. Provide suitable substrate: place some sand or fine gravel at the bottom of the container to provide a place for the river shrimp to dig and hide.
5. Provide suitable food: River shrimp is omnivorous and can eat plants, algae, small invertebrates, etc. Provide the right amount of bait such as vegetables, fish bait or specialized river shrimp feed.
6. Suitable temperature: River prawns are adapted to a wide range of temperatures, but the optimum temperature is between 20-25 degrees Celsius. Use a heater or cooler to maintain a constant water temperature.
7. Provide adequate shelter: place some branches, rocks or artificial caves in the aquarium to provide places for the river shrimp to hide and rest.
