Yuanhu, also known as Corydalis yanhusuo and Corydalis yanhusuo, is a perennial herb of Corydalis in Papaveraceae, and it is also called "Zhejiang Eight Flavors" with Atractylodes macrocephala, Paeonia lactiflora and Fritillaria, which is a common Chinese medicine. The history of Yuanhu is recorded in Kaibao Materia Medica. It is warm in nature, bitter in taste, and enters the heart, spleen, liver and lungs. It is a wonderful product for promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, promoting qi circulation and relieving pain, especially for its analgesic effect. In Compendium of Materia Medica, Li Shizhen concluded that Yuanhu has four functions: promoting blood circulation, regulating qi, relieving pain, and promoting urination, and praised Yuanhu's "stagnation of qi in blood and stagnation of blood in qi, so he specializes in treating all kinds of pains in the whole body".

Perennial herb, height 10-20cm. Tubers are oblate, 0.5-2.5 cm in diameter and yellow. There are 1 scales at the base of the stem, and small tubers often grow in the scales and axils of lower leaves; Cauline leaves are long-stalked, divided into two parts and three parts, and the last lobe is lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate.
