In winter, the windows in the north and west of the quail house should be closed. Cracked walls should also be blocked with sand and mud; Doors and windows face south, and grass curtains should be hung. This can prevent the cold wind from attacking in winter.
At the appropriate temperature of 15-25℃, the adult quail has a strong appetite and lays more eggs. When the temperature is lower than 15℃, the oviposition rate is obviously reduced, and even the molting is stopped.
Therefore, if quail breeding is carried out in severe winter or early spring, measures should be taken to raise the temperature, cover the cages with thermal insulation at night, and appropriately increase the cage culture density, so that 90- 100 quails can be raised per square meter.
Or put up a double-layer plastic shed (the distance between the two films is 5- 10 cm) in the leeward and sunny place to raise quail; You can also use three-dimensional multi-layer culture to build a double-layer quail house, and the interlayer is filled with chaff, cinder, sawdust and so on. Cover the grass curtain to keep warm at night.
When quail is cultivated in winter, if there is no special heat preservation equipment, the top and four walls of the cage can be covered with films, so that the room temperature can be maintained and the cost is low.
Conditional quail farmers can also buy a warm air stove or a small electric stove (500~800 watts) to keep warm, which usually lasts for several hours at night.
