This product is a perennial herb of Gynostemma in Compositae. Born in roadsides, fields, border fields, ditches and wet grasslands on mountain slopes in Chi Pan. Distributed in the northeast, east, face and coastal islands of China.

It tastes sweet and bitter, but it is cold and nontoxic.

The herbs commonly used to cook herbal tea in Chaoshan area are: ebony, lophatherum gracile, orange, sesame, rose leaf, red vine, Rosa laevigata root, butterfly, Desmodium styracifolium and bamboo shavings. Boil the above herbs in a casserole for hot or cold drinks.
