What kind of goat group is the antelope in southern Xinjiang?
Nanjiang Yellow Goat, produced in Nanjiang County, Sichuan Province, is a breed group with Niu Bin Dairy Goat, Chengdu Mayang Goat and Jintang Black Goat as paternal lines and Nanjiang local goats as maternal lines. It was cultivated by compound hybridization method and then induced into Tugenbao sheep blood to form good meat production performance. The sheep in this group are tall, with straight back, plump body, almost barrel-shaped and stout limbs. The coat is yellowish brown, the face is mostly black, there is a pale yellow stripe on both sides of the bridge of the nose, and there is a black hair band with different widths along the back from beginning to end. Long black hair grows on the chest, neck and shoulders and upper limbs. The average weight of adult male and female sheep is 67 kg and 45 kg respectively. Estrus in four seasons, strong reproductive ability, lambing rate 187% ~ 2 19%. 6-month-old ewes reached 27.4 kg and 265,438 0.8 kg respectively. At present, the disadvantage of this breed is that both male and female sheep have horns, which will cause certain difficulties for intensive large-scale free-range house feeding. Another outstanding disadvantage is that as a breed used for mutton sheep production, its limbs are tall and short, and its slaughter rate (only about 45%) is still relatively low, which must be overcome in future breeding.
