First, variety selection. It is best to choose fast-growing varieties such as purple garlic or white garlic, such as purple garlic, bamboo garlic and white garlic. The garlic yellow produced in kind of garlic is vigorous, cold-resistant and tidy, with strong disease resistance and high yield.
Second, build a pool to keep warm. Choose vegetable fields, open spaces or indoor vacancies in front of and behind the house, and build bricks with a height (depth) of about 60 cm, depending on the cultivation site and the number of cultivation.
Third, plant garlic at the right time. Choose garlic with large petals, uniform size and positive color. Peel off the coat, remove rotten cloves, garlic cloves and garlic bolts, and soak them in clear water 18-24 hours. Put garlic cloves in a pool (or border) with a flush top, and then cover them with wet fine sand or sandy loam with a thickness of about 2-4 cm, and use about 15-20 kg of garlic seedlings per square meter. Generally speaking, it can be produced continuously from cold dew (65438+1early October) to the vernal equinox of the following year (late March). When most garlic seedlings grow, cover the pond with grass to avoid light (doors and windows should be closed for indoor cultivation). When the seedling height is about 10 cm, spray water once every 1-2 days. Directly cultivated at the border, garlic cloves germinate 1-3 days after planting. At this time, it is necessary to find a frame to cover the straw curtain to shade the sun, soften the garlic leaves, promote their yellowing growth and ensure the product quality.
Fourth, temperature management. Before unearthed, the temperature was controlled at 25℃ during the day and at18-20℃ at night. After the garlic seedlings are unearthed, the temperature should be kept at least at 18-22℃ during the day and not lower than 16℃ at night. When the seedling height is more than 24 cm, the temperature will be kept at 14- 18℃, and it will be reduced to about 12℃ 4-5 days before harvesting.
Verb (abbreviation of verb) water resources management. Spraying water immediately after planting, and spraying water every 4-5 days during seedling growth. There is little water in the early stage of growth, and the growth temperature is high in the later stage. In sandy loam, the seedlings are large or the drainage speed is fast, so it is necessary to spray more water. Stop spraying water 3-4 days before harvest to make garlic grow sturdily. Spraying 0. 1% potassium dihydrogen phosphate or 0.2%-0.3% urea aqueous solution every other week is beneficial to improve the yield.
Sixth, ventilation and lighting. Generally, the straw curtain is not uncovered when garlic is softened and cultivated. If garlic is white, a few days before harvest, you can open the pool or shed at noon on a sunny day to improve the color and quality. In the case of high temperature and high humidity, ventilation is needed to prevent rotten seedlings.
Seven, timely harvest. Generally, it will be cultivated for 20-25 days (30-40 days in straight border cultivation), and garlic can be harvested when it is 36-43 cm high. The second crop can be harvested in about 20 days (about 30 days of direct planting on the border). Generally, after the second garlic harvest, garlic and sand should be taken out, the border (or pond) should be trimmed, and the second sowing should be done well.
