Longjing is a famous Chinese green tea, produced in the West Lake area of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, with a history of more than 1,200 years.
The original name of Longjing was Longhong, a round spring pool that did not dry up in a drought. Ancient people thought that this spring was connected to the sea and there was a dragon in it, so it was called Longjing, and legend has it that Ge Hong used to make elixir here in the Jin Dynasty.
Lok Fai Wu, about 500 meters from the Dragon Well, there is the Dragon Well Temple, commonly known as the old Dragon Well, was founded in the Five Dynasties after the Han Dynasty Qianyou two years (949 years), initially known as the newspaper to see the Scripture Institute. In the Northern Song Dynasty, it was renamed Shou Sheng Yuan. In the Southern Song Dynasty, the name was changed to Guangfuyuan and Yan'en Diffractive Celebration Temple. Ming Zhengtong three years (1438) before moving to the well, now the temple has been abolished, secluded as a tea room.
West Lake Longjing is produced in the mountains around Shifeng, Wengjiashan, Hupeng, Meijiawu, Yunqi and Lingyin in West Lake, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.
