"Sesame Street" is a children's educational television program produced and broadcast by the American Public Broadcasting Corporation (PBS). The program was broadcast on National Educational Television (the predecessor of PBS) on November 10, 1969. First broadcast. It is the children's show that has won the most Emmy Awards to date (153, as of 2009). This program uses a variety of expression techniques such as puppets, animation and live performances to teach children basic knowledge such as basic reading, arithmetic, names of colors, letters and numbers, and sometimes some basic common sense in life. Many of the comedy skits and columns have become models for other television programs to imitate.
