Morphological Characteristics
Two-year-old robust erect herb, 30-60 cm high. The whole plant is smooth and glabrous. Flowers yellow-white; arranged in long racemes; sepals 4, narrow and erect; petals 4, spreading as a cross; stamens 4 strong; pistil 1, ovary superior, stigma capitate. Carob long terete, beak often very short, and dilated at base. Seeds small, globose, 1-2 mm in diameter, with very small fossae.
