Where does the wild invertebrate arowana grow in China? Is it a national protected animal? What's the biggest weight you've ever caught?
It is distributed in the Pacific Northwest and east of Hainan Island in China to the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, and freshwater rivers such as Pearl River, Qiantang River, Yangtze River and Yellow River. It is a national first-class protected animal. The largest Chinese sturgeon was caught in Yichang section of the Yangtze River in 2004 10/2. It is a female with a total length of 3.2 meters and a weight of 222 kilograms. It is the largest wild Chinese sturgeon known at present (the only living wild Chinese sturgeon with a total length of over 3 meters is known at present). Previously, 25 offspring Chinese sturgeons born in different years artificially bred by Yangtze River Fisheries Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences had arrived in Beijing in advance. When the Chinese sturgeon family comes to Beijing this time, they can make use of the better infrastructure conditions of Beijing Aquarium to carry out research on the protection of Chinese sturgeon.
