(1) live.
After sowing, cover with a small amount of coarse vermiculite, and the suitable germination temperature is 22 ~ 24℃.
(2) asexual reproduction.
Although dichondra repens can be propagated by seed sowing, it is actually propagated mainly by stolons. Vegetative stem propagation can be divided into two ways: grass stem planting and grass block planting.
When the grass stems are planted separately, the ratio of 1∶8 is usually adopted. After the ramets are obtained, they are planted or buried in the lawn. If there are many weeds in the breeding ground, the proportion and coefficient of transplanting should be reduced, so that horseshoes can cover the ground as soon as possible to inhibit the growth of weeds.
When the grass block planting method is adopted, turf with a thickness of 2 ~ 4 cm is collected from the artificially cultivated lawn with normal growth and development (generally biennial) and no diseases and insect pests, and the turf blocks are torn into grass blocks with a size of 5 cm ×5 cm by hand or knife, and adhered to the ground in different forms such as points (holes), strips and plum blossoms, with certain gaps left between the blocks, and the soil in the gaps of the lawn should be loose and slightly higher. Generally, 20 ~ 25 pieces of turf are planted as needed per square meter, then covered with soil and compacted, and then watered. 1 ~ 2 months later, the whole lawn bed was covered. If planted separately according to the ratio of 1∶8, the ground can be completely covered after 2 ~ 3 months of summer growth. Grass blocks are planted in spring and autumn, and the growing period is slightly longer than that in summer.
