What is normal blood pressure? What are the criteria for hypertension and hypotension and what are their clinical significance?
①Ideal blood pressure, i.e., systolic blood pressure <120mmHg, diastolic blood pressure <80mmHg.

②Normal blood pressure, i.e., systolic blood pressure <130mmHg, diastolic blood pressure <85mmHg.

③Normal high values, i.e., systolic blood pressure of 130~139mmHg, diastolic blood pressure of 85~89mmHg.

Quiet, awake conditions using the Standard measurement method, at least three non-same-day blood pressure values of systolic blood pressure of 140mmHg or more and/or diastolic blood pressure of 90mmHg, for hypertension. The vast majority of hypertension is primary hypertension, and about 5% is secondary or symptomatic hypertension, mostly secondary to renal, adrenal, or endocrine system diseases.

When the blood pressure is lower than 90/60mmHg, it is called hypotension. Persistent hypotension is often seen in various causes of shock, myocardial infarction, pericardial compression, hypoadrenocorticism and debilitated people.
