It is an alabaster snail if you make it domestically. There are only a few main types of edible snails that can be sold on the international market, such as French snails, garden snails and onyx snails. The one most commonly used domestically, however, is the white jade snail.
The white jade snail, also known as the brown cloud agate snail, the African large snail, the Chinese white jade snail. It is the world's largest individual land snail, weighing up to 800 grams, with a shell up to 20 centimeters long. It originates from eastern Africa, but is now widely distributed in the hot and humid regions of Asia, the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the Americas. It is a well-known invasive alien species. It mainly inhabits vegetable fields, farmlands, orchards, parks, rubber plantations, overgrown, tree-lined, crop-heavy, dark and moist environments as well as humusy soils, piles of dead grasses, caves, and under tree branches and stones.
The alabaster snail has a wide and varied diet, the young alabaster snails just hatched eat rotting plants, adult alabaster snails eat succulent plant roots, stems, leaves, flowers and fruits (such as a variety of vegetables, leaves, melons and fruits, etc.), often licked with the teeth and tongue to eat the tender and juicy plants, so it is the enemy of the plant. It hides during the day in mud holes, wall cracks, weeds or under the leaves. In winter, it hides from the cold in stone gaps or in the soil. The white jade snail is a hermaphrodite, heterozygous fertilization, more in the night or dawn mating. April to June and September to November is the snail spawning season, the year can be spawned 6 to 7 times, 8 days or so the eggs can hatch out of the young white jade snail, the general life expectancy of 5 to 6 years.
The meat of white jade snail is fat and tender, rich in nutrients, is a kind of high-protein (containing 20 kinds of amino acids), low-fat, cholesterol tends to zero of the high-level nutritional products.
