Dawuling Nature Reserve is located in the southwest of Guangdong, adjacent to Guangxi, spanning Xinyi and Gaozhou, covering an area of 3,534 hectares. Dawuling belongs to Yunkai Mountain Range, and its landform type is Zhongshan Mountain. There are 29 peaks with an altitude above1500m in the territory, and its main peak, Datian Top, has an altitude of1703.8m, which is the highest peak in western Guangdong. Dawuling is famous for its frequent fog. Dawuling has not been affected by transgression since the ancient Caledonian movement, and there are many kinds of biological communities in the reserve, as well as rare, ancient and new special species. According to the investigation and statistics, there are wild vascular plants 1453 species (including varieties and subspecies) in Dawuling * *, which belong to 703 genera of 195 family.
Among them, pteridophytes belong to 40 families and 67 genera 12 1 species; Gymnosperms belong to 5 families and 9 genera 1 1 species; Dicotyledonous plants 130 families, 484 genera 1082 species; There are 239 species of monocotyledonous plants belonging to 20 families 143 genera. There are 9 species of Lycopodium in Paleozoic relict plant, 9 species of Pteris matsudana 1 species, 9 species of Selaginella, 9 species of Equisetum equisetum 1 species, and 9 species of Pteris rosea 1 species. There are 2 species of Osmunda tatarinowii, 2 species of Osmunda japonica, 2 species of Lilium davidii, 4 species of Alsophila spinulosa, Golden Retriever 1 species, Luohansong 1 species, and Ma Teng 1 species in Mesozoic relict plant. Dawuling is rich in plant resources with high economic value. Precious timber trees include Michelia, Cinnamomum camphora, Castanopsis hystrix and Zizyphus jujuba. There are 500 kinds of medicinal plants, such as Gynostemma pentaphyllum, which is called "Xiancao" and "Second Ginseng", growing in patches in valleys, and the famous Hedyotis heptaphylla, Dysosma versicolor, Dendrobium officinale and Cephalotaxus grandiflora, which can treat leukemia, are all distributed; Wild miscellaneous fruits and ornamental plants are also abundant, with 50 species of Orchidaceae alone.
People climb the top of the main peak, Datian, and overlook it. Layers of mountains are under their feet, and there is a panoramic view of the vast forest.
