Source The legume family, Mountain Locust, genus Pai Qian Tree, Desmodium pulchellum (L.) Benth., with the roots and leaves used in medicine. Harvested in summer and fall, chopped in summer, dried in the sun or used fresh.
The properties are light, astringent, and flat. There is a small poison.
Functions and IndicationsClearing heat and inducing dampness, activating blood circulation to remove blood stasis, softening and dispersing knots. It is used for cold and fever, malaria, hepatitis, cirrhosis and ascites, schistosomiasis, liver and spleen enlargement, rheumatism and pain, bruises and injuries, and old sinew strain.
Use and dosage branches, leaves 3 to 6 money; root 0.5 to 1 two.
Note pregnant women should not take.
Remarks (1) The plant of the same genus, Hairy Paiqianshu (Lian Liwei Shu) Desmodium blandum Van Meeuwen, is more or less the same as Paiqianshu in morphology, function, main treatment and usage.
