The two-and-a-half-volume Examination of Disaster Preparedness lists the disaster preparedness and relief measures from Sui Dynasty to Ming Dynasty, as well as some specific disaster relief methods. Finally, there are fourteen volumes of Compendium of Disaster Relief Materia Medica and one volume of Wild Recipes, in which hundreds of plants, trees, grains, fruits and vegetables can be used instead of grain to save the famine.
