During the "Spring Festival" of traditional folk cultural activities in Yunfu, Shi Peng and other villages in Yuncheng District were very lively that night. Every household was crowded with relatives and friends and held a grand banquet. Later, more than 10,000 villagers and their relatives and friends gathered in front of the ancestral hall to "watch fireworks", as well as performances such as singing and dancing, lion awakening and martial arts. This festival began in the Tang Dynasty, and all kinds of activities were held on the same day when fireworks were set off. The folk custom of setting off fireworks and grabbing fireworks symbolizes that the cold winter is over, spring returns to the earth, everything recovers and spring ploughing begins. Hundreds of fireworks were tied to a three-or four-meter-high circular tower-shaped bracket, which was divided into Ding, Cai, Shou and other cannons. Several people were carried together from the ancestral temple to the open space in the village and began to set off fireworks. There are three floors outside the crowd of onlookers. Under the night sky, the huge explosion of fireworks was deafening, and the fireworks were colorful, graceful and lively. The fireworks temple fair that night lasted until the early hours of the morning.
There is an interesting traditional custom in Mid-Autumn Festival, which is called "Tree Mid-Autumn Festival". People's main activities are enjoying the moon and eating moon cakes. Every Mid-Autumn Festival, every household should tie lanterns with bamboo sticks. Lanterns have various beginnings, including fruit lanterns, birds, animals, fish and insects, and can also be made into Chinese lanterns. At night, candles are lit in the lights, and many small lights are connected below, tied to bamboo poles with ropes. Then insert bamboo poles at the height of the house, such as platforms, roofs or big trees. At night, the lights in the city are like stars, competing with the bright moon in the sky to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is also called "Vertical Mid-Autumn Festival".
