Dazhu County is located in the east of Sichuan Province and the south of Dazhou City, bordering Liangping District and Dianjiang County of Chongqing in the east, Linshui County of Guang 'an City in the south, Guang 'an District of Guang 'an City and Quxian County of Dazhou City in the west, and Dachuan District of Dazhou City in the north, with a land span of 106 59'- 107 32' in east longitude and 30 20'-32' in north latitude.
Dazhu County belongs to the parallel fold structure in eastern Sichuan of Neocathaysia, and it is a low mountain and hilly system with Huaying Mountain range extending northeast-southwest. According to different geological strata, soil-forming parent rocks are distributed in belts from anticline to syncline. The oldest Triassic Feixianguan Formation is exposed in Meizishan and Huaying Mountain (Xishan) at the core of Tongluoxia anticline (Zhongshan), and in the area of Gaodong Village in Oujia Town. Area 1.80 km2, accounting for 0.08% of the county's total area.
