general situation

Lijiang is located in the northwest of Yunnan, the sun of Yulong Snow Mountain and the south foot of Hengduan Mountain. The Jinsha River, the source of the Yangtze River, runs down from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau from north to south, turns a big bend in Shigu Town, and then runs into the canyon from south to north. This is the famous Jinsha River bend, where the first bay of the Yangtze River flows, forming the world-famous Tiger Leaping Gorge.

Dayan Town, an ancient city, was built in the early Yuan Dynasty, and its former prosperity is still faintly visible. The ancient city is famous for "every family faces the stream and weeping willows", and is known as "Venice of the East" and "Gusu on the Plateau".

I'm afraid Mosuo people are the only daughter country in the folklore of all countries in the world. There is a beautiful Lugu Lake in Ninglang Yi Autonomous County at the junction of Sichuan and Yunnan in the northwest Yunnan Plateau. Mosuo people have lived by Lugu Lake for generations, and still retain the matriarchal clan marriage system of "men don't marry, women don't marry, and voluntary and discrete freedom are combined".

The ancient tea-horse road is the main trunk road of the Southwest Silk Road. From the Tang and Song Dynasties, tea from Yunnan and Sichuan needed to be sold to Tibet, and gold and silver ornaments from Tibet were introduced continuously. At that time, there were two main roads: Yunnan-Dali-Lijiang-Zhongdian-Chayu-Lhasa-Shigatse-Gyangze-Yadong, and then to Myanmar. The other is from Ya 'an, Sichuan, via Kangding and Qamdo to India.

Because this road is blocked by mountains and rivers, it is difficult to travel. In order to transport goods over long distances, groups of caravans came into being. At that time, Lijiang was an important town on the ancient tea-horse road and a large-scale barter market, with endless caravans coming from south to north. A caravan of animals ranges from dozens to hundreds of thousands. The cauldron head is the leader of the caravan, while Erguotou and the steward are the two leaders under the cauldron head, responsible for handling the daily affairs of the caravan. Now Dayan ancient town is one of the places where caravans stopped at that time.

Optimal travel time

Lijiang belongs to the southwest monsoon climate of the plateau, with low temperature and large temperature difference between day and night. The best seasons for Lijiang tourism are spring and summer. Personal belongings: short-sleeved T-shirt, sweater, coat, sunscreen, rain gear.

Lugu Lake is located among the mountains, and there is a lake to adjust the temperature. The climate is warm in winter and cool in summer, and the monthly average temperature is less than 20℃. However, the best seasons for traveling to Lugu Lake are spring and summer.
