Udong usually refers to the eastern part of Ukraine, especially parts of Donetsk and Luhansk, two states bordering Russia. Since 214, there have been persistent political and military conflicts in this region, mainly in Donbass region, including the confrontation between Donetsk and Lugansk, two self-proclaimed independent people, and the Ukrainian government forces. The causes of the conflict are complex, involving ethnic, historical, economic and geopolitical factors, and it has been supported by Russia to varying degrees. In recent years, the situation in Wudong has been one of the focuses of international attention.
