Yiya cooked his four-year-old son into broth for Qi Huangong to eat when he got home. Qi Huangong praised the delicious taste and asked Yiya to know that he and his son made broth for themselves. Qi Huangong was deeply moved, and since then he has gained more respect in Yi Ya.

When Guan Zhong was in charge, Qi Xianggong, who was called Guan Zhong by Qi Huangong, was seriously ill and advised Qi Huangong to stay away from courtiers such as Yiya, Diaojian and Fang Kai. Qi Huangong said inexplicably, Yiya cooked my own son for me. He loves me more than his own flesh and blood. Diao Jian came from the palace to serve me. He loves me more than himself. In order to be my courtier, Fang Kai never went back to China to mourn. He loved me more than his parents. How can he doubt their loyalty? Guan Zhong told Qi Huangong that there is no deeper human feelings than loving his son. Human feelings are more important than oneself and closer to parents. These three people don't even love their sons, themselves and their parents. Will they really love the king?

After Guan Zhong's death, Qi Huangong stayed away from Yi Ya and others, and suddenly felt unable to eat and lost. Finally, he called three people back to him. In 643 BC, Qi Huangong was seriously ill, and Yi Ya and others blocked the palace gate, cut off Qi Huangong's contact with the outside world, falsely spread your life, and prevented people outside the palace from entering the palace, starving to death in the palace, causing civil strife among the five sons of Qi. Qi Huangong couldn't be buried for more than six months after his death, which caused the corpse maggots to climb out of the window.

Although Yiya is a superb chef, he has not been respected and admired by future generations because of his evil deeds. So far, not many people know him, but the culinary world still regards him as the founder of the chef industry.
