Shanghai International Auto Show, founded in 1985, has been successfully held for 19 consecutive times. From 1985, the first Shanghai Auto Show started with 73 exhibitors and the booth area of 1 0.5 million square meters. By 1990, the audience of the first Beijing Auto Show exceeded110,000. From the original import of Santana by 1985 to the appearance of Cadillac 16-seat concept car in 2004, Beijing Auto Show and Shanghai Auto Show witnessed the development of China's automobile industry.
While China's automobile industry is moving towards the third largest automobile producer in the world with an annual output of more than 5 million vehicles, the Beijing Auto Show and the Shanghai Auto Show are also vying for the business card of the first international A-class auto show in China.
