She Xiang (136 1- 1396) was born in Gu Lin, Sichuan. A famous female politician in the Ming Dynasty and an outstanding leader of the Yi people in Shuixi.
In the eighth year of Hongwu (A.D. 1375), she married Ai [m: i] Cui, the leader of the Yi people in Shuixi, Guizhou, at the age of 14. She is brilliant and helpful. In the eleventh year of Hongwu (AD 1378), she paid tribute to her husband.
Weng 'an County is located in the hinterland of central Guizhou, the middle reaches of Wujiang River and the north of Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, with a county area of 1.974 square kilometers.
