The bird's nest of budgerigar kept at home is box-shaped and should not be too small. A standard Feng Jiao Bird's Nest is generally 25 cm long, about 15 cm wide and about 15 cm high, in a rectangular box shape. If possible, several corners of the bird's nest should be wrapped with metal to prevent budgerigars from biting and even damaging the bird's nest.

There is a mouth with a diameter of 5 cm at the lower left of the front of the Bird's Nest, which is convenient for budgerigars to enter and exit. The inner space of the bird's nest is also divided into an inner chamber and an outer chamber, the outer chamber is about 8 cm and the inner chamber is about 17cm. The inner room is used for female birds to lay eggs and hatch, and the outer room is mainly convenient for male birds to feed female birds without disturbing chicks.

Generally speaking, there is a secret door on the outer wall of the inner room. The secret door may be pulled or turned to observe the nesting situation of female birds. When both male and female birds go out for food, it is best to observe the eggs or chicks, otherwise it will easily scare the female birds and make them give up hatching eggs and raising young birds.
