Weifang is not a heavy industrial city. Weifang used to be a city with developed light industry.

Weifang City is located in the west of Shandong Peninsula, with a land span of118 ~12001'and a latitude of 35 41'~ 37 26'. The climate belongs to warm temperate monsoon semi-humid continental climate, and the urban landform forms several steps from north to south and from low to high.

Weifang is the kite capital of the world. It has been awarded the national environmental protection model city, national health city, national garden city, national food safety demonstration city, international peace city, national civilized city, China excellent tourist city, China characteristic charm city, national advanced city in science and technology progress, national circular economy demonstration city, China top 100 foreign trade city and other awards, and won the China Habitat Environment Award.

The strata in Weifang city are well developed, and Archean and Proterozoic metamorphic rocks constitute the crystalline basement of the east and west blocks. Paleozoic and Mesozoic were not integrated on the ancient crystalline basement on both sides respectively; Cenozoic formed fault basins, intermontane basins, river and lake deposits and coastal deposits. The stratum in the area under its jurisdiction belongs to the stratum area of North China.
