"Alas, the danger is high! It is difficult to go to the highway and it is difficult to go to the sky! " For more than a thousand years, Li Bai's lament in the poem "Difficult Road to Shu" describes the difficulties and obstacles in crossing the Qinling Mountains from Chang 'an to Shu. Until more than a decade ago, it was not easy to get from Xi 'an to all parts of southern Shaanxi, and it was necessary to climb mountains.
Now, when we set foot on the self-driving tour of Qinling, we can cross from Xi 'an to southern Shaanxi in an hour's drive. From the vast Guanzhong Plain, I drove into the mountainous area of southern Shaanxi and ran into green mountains and green waters everywhere. We have harvested beautiful scenery, which is shocking and moving.
On the first day of the May Day holiday, my family and I decided to start a trip temporarily. Where should I go? Let's go to the mountain! In this way, we started a casual go on road trip in Qinling Mountains.
Xi 'an people are used to calling the Qinling Mountains "Nanshan" because the Qinling Mountains are located in the south of Xi 'an and reach the south of Shaanxi after crossing the mountains. So many people actually don't know that Shaanxi, a province defined as the northwest, actually belongs to the south in a geographical sense.
Qinling Mountain is called "the back garden of Xi people", which hides countless human and natural landscapes. Every holiday, tourists who drive into the mountains wave after wave. Because it was the May Day holiday, we wanted to avoid Xi 'an, so we stepped on the gas pedal and headed for Zhashui and Ankang.
From Xi 'an to southern Shaanxi, even more than a decade ago, you still need to turn all the way along Panshan Highway to get there. But now, as long as it takes more than an hour by car, you can reach Shangluo Zhashui from Xi 'an through Qinling Zhongnanshan Tunnel. I guess, the romantic Li Bai probably didn't think that the moat, which was "difficult to get to the sky", has now become a thoroughfare.
The total length of Zhongnanshan Tunnel in Qinling Mountains is18.02km, which is known as "the second tunnel in the world and the first in Asia". It took five years to build this tunnel, tens of thousands of technicians and construction workers were used, and many international road awards were won. The contribution behind it goes without saying. Due to the long length, the tunnel is divided into three sections to arrange green trees, colored lights and other landscapes to prevent drivers from driving fatigue.
After the completion of the Zhongnanshan Tunnel, many tourists will come here to "punch in" and feel the great miracle of this pioneering human project. 18.02km, which is equivalent to 5.3 times of the north-south central axis in Xi 'an city wall. Imagine that humans can dig such a big and long tunnel in the abdomen of Qinling Mountains. When it took us 15 minutes, we suddenly crossed from Guanzhong Plain at an altitude of 800 meters to Zhashui in southern Shaanxi at an altitude of 1200 meters. At this time, the scenery we saw was completely different from the temperature we felt.

After the Zhongnanshan tunnel, the scenery in front of us is full of mountains and plains. At the beginning of May, the Qinling Mountains were lush and green. Driving is like hitting a mountain-it's really full because we've been "crossing the mountain". Tunnel after tunnel is really a visual feast, testing driving skills!
We enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the way and sighed all the way. How much manpower is needed behind such a tunnel group? What a great man!
The car ran all the way to Ankang, and we finally decided to go to Shuhe Ancient Town. Shuhe Ancient Town, located in Xunyang County, Ankang, is an ancient town with a long history, numerous historical sites and very original ecology. However, there is no expressway in Xunyang County, Ankang, and Shuhe Ancient Town is about 50 kilometers away from the county seat. The road is far away, so there are few tourists.
It is precisely for this reason that we bypassed Niubeiliang in Zhashui, Yuntai Mountain in Zhen 'an, Muwangguojia Forest Park and other scenic spots, and chose to visit this small and deserted original ecological town.
Take the 21/national highway from the "Xiaohe" expressway exit to Xunyang, the "natural Taiji City". After passing through the city, continue along the 3 16 national road to Shuhe ancient town.
When I was on the highway, I saw all the magnificent mountain views. When I got off the highway, I started a journey around the mountains and water. A little more feminine and gentle, which is the unique temperament of southern Shaanxi.
Shaanxi is a magical province. The impression of foreign tourists is either Xi 'an, the ancient capital of the 13th Dynasty, with a simple atmosphere, or northern Shaanxi with loess, caves and Pappa. Few people know that there is still one-third of southern Shaanxi in Shaanxi, which has the beauty of the south of the Yangtze River.
This road from Xunyang to Shuhe ancient town is probably an excellent portrayal of mountains and rivers in southern Shaanxi. I saw the Han River flowing slowly in the middle, and the water was green; The green hills on both sides overlap, and the car hovers against the road on the edge of the cliff. The scenery along the way is beautiful and dangerous.
