According to Yangzhou folklore, the owner of the garden spent a lot of money to get the name "Geyuan".
"Ge" originally meant "a bamboo pole". It is not surprising that Chinese characters are hieroglyphics. Doesn't "grid" look exactly like the shape of bamboo leaves? Yuan Mei, a great talent and poet in Qing Dynasty, once recited such a beautiful poem as "The bright moon reflects a thousand words, and first frost Meihuahua".
Moreover, the umbrella shape of the word "Ge" composed of three strokes, in the traditional concept of our country, symbolizes the support of the three pillars of weather, geography, people and the care of all parties, which is also the highest realm that business people hope.

Geyuan is a typical private residential garden with compact landscape layout, which is famous for its stacked stones and magnificent momentum, especially the "rockery in four seasons".
Legend has it that in order to prevent people from stealing the rockery in his beloved garden, some rockeries are made of silver, each weighing 1000 kg, and no one can take it away, so Yangzhou people also jokingly call the rockery in the garden "helpless".
When you enter the garden from your residence, the first thing you see is the garden gate in the shape of Moon Cave. On the stone forehead on the door, the word "Ge Yuan" was written. The figure of Geyuan is the shape of bamboo leaves, and the owner's name is Coriolus versicolor. "Rhyme" also refers to bamboo, named "Geyuan", and points out the theme. All kinds of bamboo branches and leaves on both sides of the garden gate are sparse, and "the moon reflects bamboo into a thousand words", which is reflected in the market.
Ginkgo peaks are interspersed among them, like thick bamboo shoots. Stalagmites with mottled green stones are planted in the bamboo forest, which means "like mushrooms after rain" in the form of "an inch of stone gives birth to feelings".
This unique painting of bamboo and stone reveals the theme of "Spring Mountain" in a way that cherishes ink like gold, that is, "a good spring cannot bear to hide, and bamboo is the most affectionate with rain". At the same time, it skillfully conveys the concept of "cherishing spring" in traditional culture, reminding people in the garden that although spring scenery is good and fleeting, it needs to be appreciated and cherished with heart to get the wonderful true meaning of nature.
Through the garden gate behind the Spring Mountain and a row of elegant leaky windows on both sides, you can catch a glimpse of the scenery in the garden, where terraces and flower trees are reflected, which is fascinating. Turn west when you enter the garden gate. It is a large bamboo forest, which is connected with Chunshan Mountain. The bamboo forest is dense and deep, showing a vibrant spring scene.
The summer resort is located in the northwest of the garden, and is connected with Baoshan Building in the east. The stones piled up in Summer Mountain are mainly blue-gray Taihu stones, like clouds and fog. Gardeners make use of the uneven, thin, transparent, leaky and wrinkled characteristics of Taihu stone, and the piled stones are more than random, and look flat and smooth from a distance, smart as clouds and strange peaks.
Myopia is exquisite, like a mountain like a hole. The cypress on the mountain is lush and green. There is a pond at the foot of the mountain, which goes deep halfway up the mountain. The green pool water reflects the whole mountain beautifully.
In the shade of the tree in the north, there is a trickle pouring into the pond, tinkling, and the fish in the center of the pond are playing and shuttling among the water lilies, which is very interesting and quiet. On the right side of the pond, there is a curved bridge that leads directly to the cave of Xiashan. This cave is deep and cold. Strange flowers and plants in the cave, colorful peaks and summer hills, are the perfect combination of exquisite Taihu stone and superb stacking skills. There is an artistic conception in Chinese painting called "the odd peaks in midsummer". The main part of Summer Mountain is to use the soft and elegant curve and changeable modeling posture of Taihu Stone to create a cloud-stopping trend and simulate the summer weather.

Baoshan Building is a seven-story building, which stands between two mountains in summer and autumn, and the two mountains are bounded by the building from east to west. There are many mountain roads leading upstairs. Baoshan building connects the two mountains in space, and the corridor in front of the building is like an arm, encircling the two mountains in the chest. This is the origin of the name Baoshan Building. The promenade of Baoshan Building is like an overpass flying in the air. Walking on the promenade, I inadvertently crossed two different seasons.
Looking at Qiushan Mountain along Baoshan Tower, there are guests and owners, hidden patches, subsidies, uneven and set off. "There seems to be a mountain, there are mountains outside the mountain, and there are endless mountains. Climbing high and looking far, the mountains are absolutely steep and abrupt.
Enjoy the scenery on the balcony of Baoshan, but you can see the phoenix tree below, which is full of shade. In front of the eaves, several bunches of plantains are slim and graceful, and the summer hills are dripping with green, and the autumn hills are red and white. The scenery is infinite and beautiful. On the south wall of the corridor downstairs, there is a piece of carved bamboo stone written by A Qing Liu Fenghao, which is reserved for people who want to know the ins and outs of a garden.
In front of Baoshan Building, there is a plaque that says "Hu Chun". "Hu Chun" is taken from the book Ge Yuan Ji, which means that the space of the garden is not as good as that of famous mountains and rivers. But its scenery is a paradise.
"Hutian" was originally a Taoist term, which came from the Book of the Later Han Dynasty compiled by historian Ye Fan. Private gardens are mostly pot-shaped structures with long and narrow passages, which are suddenly enlightened and beautiful, and are also fairyland on earth. There is a couplet under the plaque, which reads:
Huaizuo is an ancient name, and it is recorded that there are two bright moons in the ten-mile bead curtain;

This couplet vividly reproduces the prosperity of ancient Yangzhou with two most representative scenes: "Ten Pears and Bamboo Curtains" and "Two Bright Moons". The peak is towering and dangerous, and there is a stone house under it, which can accommodate more than a dozen people. There are stone tables, benches and stone beds, which are well ventilated and dry all the year round, making life quite interesting.
On the autumn mountain, it hovers up and down, twists and turns, forming a three-dimensional traffic, suddenly walls and cliffs, suddenly holes and suddenly days. People in the cave, there is a faint light through the stone gap, and they see the stalactites hanging upside down from Huangshi on the top, which is strange and spectacular.
Walking on the autumn mountain, you must remember this formula. As the saying goes, "the road leads to the path, the bright road leads to the dark road, and the straight road leads to the bend." It reminds people that if they want to take shortcuts, they are likely to go astray. If you don't avoid danger, you can save the day.
There is also a flying beam stone house hidden in the autumn mountain, with built-in stone tables, stone benches and stone beds, as if someone had been drinking, playing chess, lying down and taking a nap here. Outside the stone room is a small yard. At that time, the owner planted a peach tree in the flower bed in the yard, and now it has become a "paradise" in the caves in the mountains.
Climb to the top of the mountain along the abdominal path, blow the cloud pavilion, feel happy and have a panoramic view of the garden. The so-called autumn mountain is suitable for climbing. Especially when the sun sets and the whole mountain is covered with gold, then you can realize that the gardener faces the mountain to the west. Autumn Mountain is suitable for climbing. You can swim between scales, for example, you can climb dangerously through Qian Shan.
Zhuqiu Pavilion is located in the south peak of Qiushan Mountain, where the mountain pavilion is integrated, dancing with the mountain light day and night, and staying in autumn every year. After climbing the autumn mountain, I suddenly saw this small pavilion, just like a long drought, and I couldn't help but come and sit here. Three or five friends, sitting in a seat and holding a cup of tea, will naturally feel the pleasure of "having a half-day leisure".
Winter Mountain in Four Seasons Mountain is the rockery with the most imaginative space. The gardener arranged the winter mountain under the south wall, with his back against the high wall, and there was almost no sunshine all year round. Seen from a distance, the snow doesn't seem to have disappeared. The ground is paved with white stones, and each stone can hardly see the edges and corners, giving people a feeling of ups and downs.
Winter Mountain is a mountain with accumulated snow stones. The stone is crystal clear and white, shining in the light, the backlight is faint and white, with snow, rendering a deep winter chill of "the north wind whistling and the snow is cold".
There are also 24 wind holes on the high wall in the south of Dongshan, and the wind in the back lane strikes and sometimes makes a whistling sound. Gardeners not only use "snow color" to express winter, but also skillfully integrate "wind" into the expression, which is amazing.
Snowstones are piled up on the mountains in winter. When people build mountains with snow stones, they also deliberately pile up a group of large and small snow lions, jumping or lying, sitting or standing, jumping and playing, looking forward to love. This "lion dance and snow" picture between paradox makes the lonely snow-capped mountains look full of vitality and interest.
Winter rocks are also dotted with ragged wintersweet and southern Tianzhu, yellow flowers and red fruits, which are particularly enchanting. There is a circular leaky window on the right side of the western wall, which is vaguely opposite to the Spring Mountain separated by a wall.
Just as people are facing the dignified and quiet winter scenery and sigh at the end of the year, they suddenly look back and find a corner of the Spring Mountain on the Western Wall, which seems to be waving to people, suggesting that spring is coming again.
The mountain in winter is livable, but the best thing is of course that three confidants gather in this windtight hall built by the mountain to enjoy the snow around the stove and talk at night.
"Air leakage and moon leakage" is another beautiful flower hall in the garden. It is built facing the winter mountain and is located in the north of the winter mountain. The north and south sides are transparent, and the single-eave hard roof environment is cold and quiet.
In terms of its frame form, this hall is a square hall with hanging beams, square rafters, square columns, square stone drums, square stone piers, square brick floors and even square wood carving windows.
As you can know from the name "Missing Moon", it used to be very elegant here. There is a couplet at the entrance of the hall, which reads:
Virtual bamboo orchid gives birth to static gas;
Breeze and bright moon are metaphors of heaven.
The virtual bamboo outside the hall and the orchids inside the hall set each other off to create a quiet atmosphere. In this atmosphere, people are bathed in the four-season breeze, clear sky and bright moon, feel the truth of the universe and enjoy the care of nature.
