Friends from afar is directed by Zhang Yimou and supervised by Sha Xiaolan. The performance combines China's traditional culture with modern science and technology, with the sky as the curtain, the sea as the platform and the city as the scenery. The performance is divided into six parts, the preface is Light of Shanghe, Tianya Yue Ming, Feng Qi and Lu Yun, Guotai Anmin, Dreaming the Future and Sharing Destiny, with a duration of 26 minutes. Different from the traditional performance form, the stage is completely built on the sea, which is rare in China and even the world. By combining the multimedia spherical video, screen projection and coastal city landscape architecture on the sea stage, the city night scene of Qingdao is creatively integrated into the stage performance.
