What do people who sail on submarines eat?
There are various catering facilities on the submarine, including kitchen, dining room, granary and cold storage. In order to ensure the "rations" and nutritional needs for several months at a time, the submarine should be loaded with enough voyage food before sailing. The staple foods are rice flour, bread, dried noodles, compressed food, oatmeal, beans and so on. Non-staple foods include fish, meat, dehydrated vegetables, various canned foods, as well as various fresh fruits, dairy products, various beverages and multivitamin products. Chefs are specially trained and skilled, and the food standard is similar to that of pilots. American ballistic missile nuclear submarines even have ice cream makers and mini-bars, with four meals a day (breakfast, lunch, evening and supper). The kitchen is open 24 hours a day, so you can have some sandwiches or something at any time.
