Zhu Jie: The fruit of our joint labor-cheesecake.
Now is an era of post-90s students all over the world. Zhu Jie, a freshman who loves to travel and write, came across the sea to Britain and became a member of the overseas study corps to tell you about the new life that is gradually unfolding. -Edit
It is another beautiful Saturday noon, and I am happily walking on the streets of London. The sun, which is more and more difficult to see, seems to show its face on the rest day, and the golden light shines warmly through the leaves of buttonwood trees on both sides of the street. People on the roads around us have slowed down their usual hurried pace and bathed in this sunshine.
line
On the sunny and green road, the most beautiful thing is the red bus passing by from time to time. They drove past the street corner, sometimes whistling softly, as if welcoming a cylindrical mailbox as red as themselves. This bus is comfortable and spacious, and the red coat is gorgeous and warm, dotted on the street, which makes people relaxed and happy. Of course, if you walk, you will find those black taxis attractive. They are like low-key old English gentlemen, but they are not ostentatious, but they have a strong atmosphere. From time to time, some fashionable sports cars appear in big red cars and small black workshops. These little-known expensive private cars, with modern shapes and smooth lines, are in harmony with the tradition and solemnity of red buses and black taxis, which explains the harmonious integration of London's modernization and history.
Of course, don't be too busy looking at the scenery on the ground. At your feet, there are extremely developed subway lines extending in all directions and leading to every corner of the city. Now some people may think that the London subway is a bit old, because it is an old-timer in the world subway. /kloc-this subway has been rolled out in this old industrialized country since the 0/9th century, and it will be rolled out prosperously.
However, these means of transportation are not cheap to sit on. College students who don't have any spare money walk around with one foot, relying on youth and strength. Strange to say, the road to London doesn't seem to be difficult. I, a liberal arts woman, am an out-and-out road idiot. I didn't get lost when I first arrived in London. On the one hand, detailed maps appear on the streets of London from time to time; On the other hand, it should be attributed to those ancient buildings with obvious characteristics, which have stood at key intersections for ten years like road signs, guiding tourists and strangers in London every day.
clothes
People passing by have rules to follow. If it is a woman, it is often a dark coat or camel cloak, with slim leather pants or stockings below to outline slender legs, and a pair of shiny boots or ankle-high shallow boots outside. If it is a male, it is often a black coat, revealing broad and stylish shoulders and knees. That's it, simple and classic, elegant metaphor. Behind the lack of publicity is great confidence-it can be charming enough without dazzling colors.
The legendary English plaid, in London, is actually not as obvious and common as I thought. It is not common for people to wear plaid coats or plaid velvet skirts; These plaids are often hidden in a corner of a scarf or in the dark thread of stockings. Perhaps, even a simple plaid is a gorgeous decoration in the eyes of the British, which should be less than or greater than, so it can be used as the finishing touch.
I like this simplicity. Only sometimes, on a late autumn evening, when there is no sunshine and the leaves of rehmannia are full, passers-by dressed like this will still make this evening look a little depressed. Fortunately, at this time, most people are already on their way home. They think about the warm yellow light outside the window and the hot dinner on the table. Smiles will definitely appear on their faces, and they will sigh in their hands, put away their coats and continue to rush home against the autumn wind.
Food and shelter
Stop and go, look at the scenery along the street all the way, and finally come to the destination-a new home of a senior. Dormitories in universities are relatively convenient and cheap, but most of them only allow students to live for the first year. The next year, you have to go out and rent a house. In central London, land is precious, and the countdown to the Olympic Games will bring huge crowds and push up rents. Therefore, the houses rented by ordinary students are not very big, which makes people feel a little humble.
However, the place where young people live is always full of vitality. Senior and friends finally settled down in the same rented suite, and invited friends to attend after the renovation? The joy of moving? . So-called? The joy of moving? Obviously, it means to warm your new home through the popularity of relatives and friends. Friends get together to celebrate the housewarming.
The most lively place in the house is the kitchen. Pots and pans are ringing happily, and both hosts and guests, as long as they can cook, are scrambling to show their talents. Wang Shouyi and Laoganma, all kinds of spices bought from China City, are permeated with the flavor of hometown. However, it didn't take long for kung pao chicken, Mapo tofu and braised pork to be served on the plate and table. It's not unusual for girls to cook these days, but boys don't. Once they do, they are often cooks. They are always invited every time they have a housewarming.
Everyone is used to cooking Chinese food full of hometown flavor at this kind of dinner. But dessert may do as the Romans do. This time, we made cheesecake. We read the recipe from a domestic chef's mother's blog and learned about the operation process on YouTube video, so we are ready to give it a try. Some beat eggs, some preheat the oven, and the division of labor is quite efficient. Half an hour later, the hot cheesecake was freshly baked, so everyone didn't have to wait to taste it, and their hearts were full of sweetness. In a foreign land, friends are relatives. Living under the same roof, making cakes together, warm rooms with hearts close to each other.
Weekend afternoon, so spent. All the details of food, clothing, housing and transportation are peaceful, elegant, satisfying and sweet, so that international students can relax and recharge their batteries and wait for the arrival of a new week.
