Introduction:
Guangzhou City God Temple, also called City God Temple, is next to Nanyue Palace Museum. It was built in the third year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1370). It was the largest city god temple in Lingnan during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. What we are seeing now is the reconstruction of the Qing Dynasty. Only the main hall and the worship pavilion are left. It is a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit in Guangzhou, and it has only been opened to the public for free in recent years.
In the main hall of the Chenghuang Temple, Liu, the founding emperor of the Southern Han Dynasty, Hai Rui, a famous soldier, and three Chenghuang lords paid their respects and wished one party peace. There is a lacquer mural of more than 240 square meters hanging in the main hall, depicting 132 immortals, including Pangu, Nuwa, Guanyin, Jade Emperor and the Four Seas Dragon King. This is very rare and must not be missed.
In addition, the Guangfu Temple Fair held during the Lantern Festival every year is also held here, with a large number of people, which is particularly lively.
