How long does ATG take effect in treating aplastic anemia?
ATG is a potent immunosuppressant with antiplatelet activity.

ATG needs to be used for 5 days, and intravenous infusion 12- 18 hours every day.

For patients who failed or relapsed after the first ATG treatment, a second ATG treatment is recommended. The interval between two times should not be less than 3 months, preferably 6 months, because most patients show curative effect in about 3-6 months. Most patients with good curative effect in early treatment are still sensitive to the second treatment, while patients with poor curative effect may have little effect in the second treatment.
