Rajesh is often called Raj for short, or Cousepali by Sheldon. Although he comes from New Delhi, India, he can't get used to Indian food (diarrhea) and also eats beef (cows are sacred and delicious animals), and his understanding of Indian culture and Hinduism is often laughed at by Sheldon. Raj's family is very rich, with six children, one of whom is Playa's girlfriend. Raj often wears a shirt with three layers inside and three layers outside, a sweater vest, khaki pants and a bright or soft trench coat, and only wears a red cap in the original story. In the episode of "Installing Stairs", there is a flashback scene in which Raj once dressed up as a character in the popular Indian movie Miami Raptors. Every Wednesday night, four otaku happily squat in Leonard and Sheldon's apartment to play halo, occasionally at Raj's house (mainly when Leonard and Raj's sister Priya are together). They also love to play Conan Times, and Raj claims to be addicted to it.
