The eight bowls in Guanzhong are not soup, but eight different dishes. The Eight Bowls in Guanzhong, also known as the Eight Bowls in Shaanxi, include braised chicken, crispy pork, steamed pork, striped pork, braised pork with a handle, Four Joy Meetballs and sweet rice with eight treasures. These dishes are all made by cooking with bowls as containers, and most of them are meat dishes. These dishes are not only popular in Guanzhong area, but also traditional food in most areas of China. Guanzhong, the place name, refers to the "four passes", namely Tongguan in the east, Sanguan in the west (the Great Earthquake Pass), Wuguan in the south (the Blue Pass) and Xiaoguan in the north. Guanzhong area is located in the middle of Shaanxi Province, including five prefecture-level cities, Xi 'an, Xianyang, Baoji, Weinan and Tongchuan, with a total area of 55,623 square kilometers.
