Design of User Interview for User Research
During this time, my colleagues and I carried out user research together. As we all know, the quality of products is not only affected by the functional content provided by the products themselves, but also by the research level of the target users. The content of this paper is about the introduction of "user interview method" in user research, as well as the general process of interview, and analyzes the contents and precautions of each link and step with examples, hoping to share with you.

What is the user interview method?

Most research is based on interviews. The process of understanding the user experience by asking questions is an interview. The interview content includes the use process, experience, brand impression and personal experience of the product, which belongs to a qualitative research method.

2. Advantages of user interview method

The content obtained through interviews can be screened and organized to form powerful data. Interview can be regarded as the basis of all research methods, not only because it is used in several research methods, but also because the form of interview can be adjusted according to different projects and research requirements to achieve the required goals.

The interview process mainly includes three aspects: pre-preparation, in progress and the end of the interview. The general process is as follows:

Take collecting users' initial experience (that is, the overall feeling of natural use within 3-5 minutes) of a clothing e-commerce app v4.2.3 version as an example.

Criteria for determining interviewees

1. Users aged 25-35 who are concerned about dressing and matching;

2. Five men and five women, * * *10;

3. Have app shopping experience (if not, it will not meet the standard).

Recording tool

1. Video phone; 2. Recording pen; 3. Pen and paper or other recording tools.

Necessary question

1. Please briefly describe your feelings after use;

2. What do you think of the operation of app? Why?

3. Do you like the design style of this application? Why?

Optional question

1. What do you care about most (price, goods, brand, logistics) when shopping with app?

2. Is this information helpful to you? Will you take the initiative to understand?

3. Can the promotion activities on the page catch your eye?

4. Would you choose to shop on this application? Why?

5. What do you think of this product? What goods or brands do you usually pay attention to?

1. A test mobile phone equipped with this version of APP (WiFi network environment);

2. A spare private mobile phone with this version of APP (4G network environment).

Print file (new)

Print 3 copies of design questions.

Where is it? No.700 beverage coffee house (indoor)

Site layout? A round table, three chairs, video debugging, and snacks.

Reception? Drr and zp take turns to receive each interviewee.

Moderator? Zp is responsible for hosting and asking questions to the interviewees.

Record? Drr is responsible for video recording and recording.

Interview method

Interview begins

We should create a relaxed atmosphere at the beginning of the interview, start with simple questions and build trust.

In the interview

1. Listen carefully to users' ideas and suggestions, be objective and make records; 2. Take out details and stories to answer users' questions.

End of interview

Express gratitude to the interviewee and give gifts and rewards when necessary.

Matters needing attention

1. Let the interviewee express his original intention without guidance; 2. This method can't replace market research; 3. avoid digression; 4. Don't interpret or analyze information during the interview.

According to the feedback information from users, the problems are classified, written and sorted into reports, which are sent to relevant departments to give optimization suggestions or solutions.

Feedback the survey results to the decision-making level, and speculate on the results of each problem and the impact of the results on business and company income; Invite relevant personnel from all departments to attend the meeting to understand and analyze the problems.

All departments brainstorm on the corresponding problems, give solutions and promote them; Verify related issues in the next version.
