The traditional menu of Xianju is "Eight Bowls", which means auspiciousness, and "Eight" is an auspicious number in China culture. In China's classical culture, yin and yang, five elements and eight diagrams are the key elements, so that the eighth eight diagrams are Kun, Kun is the land, mother, cow and numerous, and "eight" is the one with the most even numbers in ten years, which implies many auspicious sayings.
Taoist culture has a long history and has created many representatives of the Eight Immortals. The table for eating is called the square table, with a side length of three feet six (half a foot) or 1 meter, and four benches are four feet (half a foot) long, which is called a four-foot bench. There are two people sitting on each side, a total of eight people, an "eight bowls" and sixteen to twenty-four dishes.

Legend has it that in ancient times, after the Eight Immortals crossed the sea to kill the Dragon King, on their way back to the Fairy Residence, they saw the drums and lanterns in the neighboring village and went down to Xiangyun to join in the fun. It turns out that Mr. Wu, the richest man in the village, married a woman, and it rose at that time. One person cooked a good dish (namely, Cai Helianzi, Xiangzi sea cucumber, a bowl of meat, my uncle's pickled fish, and Dong Bin's big fish)
Soon, Xianju people changed the table of the Eight Immortals to the table of the Eight Immortals, and all the eight specialties of the Eight Immortals were used in the wedding banquet and were honored as eight bowls. The specific name of the eight bowls was changed to the above eight bowls.
