Chen Yueqing: Just make good food.
It's hard to believe that the radiant Chen Yueqing is almost sixty years old. Twenty years ago, on the day when her husband Su Chi suffered from liver cancer, she changed from a professional news anchor to a health spokesperson who studied food nutrition and prevented cancer, and also promoted the "Whole Food Movement" in various places. Over the years, the greatest reward for Chen Yueqing is to protect the most precious health for her husband and two children and keep her youth.

Health at the dining table 1 | Health expert Chen Yueqing

A few years ago, I published my first cookbook. My eldest daughter's classmates are quite "sympathetic" to her life after learning that she drinks essence soup for breakfast every day and only eats five grains of rice at home, and can't eat fried chicken and French fries! My daughter says it's good to get used to it, but now she doesn't like white rice. Once after eating an instant hamburger, she vowed never to eat it again because she said, "It's too oily! I believe that children's taste buds will be kept clean from childhood and will find something clean to eat when they grow up. The quality of diet determines the future of children, which is the greatest gift I can give to children.

Healthy eating doesn't need to be so sad. Although the sweet potato skin is healthy, it is really not delicious. We must find a way to make it delicious. For me, a healthy diet means eating whole foods (including skins, seeds and fibers), eating in a reasonable amount, eating creatively and being delicious!

My recipe is simple. I'm good at using food conditioner to turn the nutritious parts that people usually eat less and don't like to eat into delicious juice or delicious sauce. Because I didn't want my family to eat unnecessary food additives, I even made my own sauce. There are only four kinds of processed foods in my family: tofu, bean skin, dried tofu and canned tuna. Other ingredients are natural food. Usually I spend a lot of time choosing good ingredients. Friends may not be able to eat big fish and meat when they come to my house, but they will certainly get all the nutrition of the whole food. Because not everyone has such a bizarre life experience as me, and with the growth of age, people see that I am not getting old. It is particularly convincing for me to promote the whole food movement.

With good tools, cooking can be elegant.

Usually, when you are busy, you will spend time preprocessing many ingredients, such as washing and cutting fruits and vegetables first and putting them in the fresh-keeping box of the refrigerator; Steam more soybeans, cook more whole grains and rice, and freeze in the refrigerator. At breakfast time, beat soybean milk with cooked soybeans and add nuts and vegetables to make soup. Make a slight change the next day. Soybeans and whole grain rice can also be made into delicious rice soybean milk. Next time, add a pumpkin or taro. Whenever I have time, I think of some cooking ideas, such as cooking with white sesame seeds. I can make sesame sauce, sesame smoothies, sesame cold noodle sauce and sesame paste at one time. So my family has two big refrigerators, many fresh-keeping boxes and a Vitamix food conditioner. I believe that a busy housewife can take care of her family's health gracefully as long as she has a concept of nutrition, a diet management method and good tools, without "sweating a little".

There will be some standing food in my refrigerator in summer. When the weather is very hot, it is easy for children to clamor for drinks. I will cook a pot of mung bean barley soup and drink it at any time. There is also a simple vegetarian soup, which is made of ten centimeters of kelp, two dried mushrooms, onions, carrots, organic cabbage and organic pineapple peel. The broth is refrigerated or frozen, and the soup is cooked with vegetables at dinner, which is sweet and delicious. The latest dietary guidelines encourage eating more protein (beans), but children don't like beans very much, so I made bean curry. First soak all kinds of beans in water, stir-fry onions, add beans to boil, and then add curry blocks to boil the beans. Children like them very much.
