1. Select varieties: Because strawberries are grown in greenhouses, it is generally necessary to choose varieties with a shallow dormancy period. At the same time, attention should be paid to appearance, quality, resistance and yield. The more common varieties include Fengxiang, Chunxiang, Mingbao, etc. They need dozens of hours to pass through winter dormancy, so they are very suitable for planting. In addition, there are Jiuneng, Shuofeng, Xindu No. 1, etc., which are all good choices.
2. Soil and base fertilizer: If you want the strawberries to grow well, you must provide suitable soil and a certain amount of base fertilizer. Generally, the garden should be located on a higher ground and should be flatter. The loose soil helps with drainage, and the rich organic matter can provide certain nutrients. Usually, neutral or slightly acidic soil is used. It is better to grow beans and wheat before. If you have planted tomatoes, green peppers, etc., it is not suitable for planting strawberries.
3. Planting method: To plant strawberries, you must first carry out fake planting, separate strong seedlings from the mother plant, plant them in fertile soil, wait until inflorescences grow, and then transplant them to the greenhouse. Cut off old leaves, diseased leaves and stolons before planting. If the seedlings are too small or too weak, be sure to remove them. The depth of planting should be controlled well, and the roots should neither be exposed nor buried too deep.
4. Management points: After planting strawberries, farmers can water once a day in the morning and evening to keep the soil moist, and stop flooding 10 days before they are ready to be covered with greenhouse film. After turning green, loosen the soil appropriately and spray a little carbendazim or thiophanate-methyl on the flat surface. Covering with a layer of mulch will help increase the ground temperature and prevent weeds from growing. Wait until there is a drought to provide an appropriate amount of water, and spray foliar fertilizer when they grow older.
